Tacada Terms and Conditions
Version 1.1.0 — 9 August 2026
These terms govern your use of Tacada. By creating an account you accept them. They are deliberately short and plain.
1. Who provides the service
Alejandro Gómez de la Cruz Alcañiz, Spanish tax ID 44599568S, Calle General Pardiñas 57, 4.º A, 28006 Madrid, Spain. Contact: privacy@tacadagolf.com.
2. What Tacada is
A social golf app for organising rounds, keeping score, calculating your playing level, competing and following other players.
3. This is a beta
Tacada is distributed for testing to a closed group of people. It may break, it may change from one day to the next, and it may stop being available. Do not use it as your official record of results. During the beta the service is provided as is, with no guarantee of availability or of data retention.
4. Your account
- You must be 16 or older.
- The details you give must be yours and true. A @username belongs to whoever registered it.
- You are responsible for what happens on your account. If you suspect someone else got in, write to us.
- You can delete it whenever you like under Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account.
5. The Tacada Score is not your official handicap
This matters, so it should be unambiguous:
- Score (or Tacada Score) is the app's own calculation of your playing level. It uses the methodology of the World Handicap System, but it is not an official handicap and carries no weight with any federation or in any federated competition.
- Your official handicap (WHS) is issued by your federation — RFEG in Spain, FPG in Portugal. Tacada only reads it and shows it to you. It never issues it and never changes it.
If you enter an official competition, the handicap that counts is your federation's.
6. How to behave
You may not use Tacada to:
- Falsify results, sign scorecards for rounds you did not witness, or manipulate standings.
- Harass, threaten, insult or impersonate anyone.
- Post illegal, violent or sexual content, content inciting hatred, or photos of other people without their permission.
- Scrape data from the app in bulk or automatically, or attempt to bypass access controls.
- Use the app to sell or promote things without asking us first.
If you break these rules we may suspend or close your account. If it is serious, without prior warning.
7. What you post
What you upload stays yours. By posting it you give us permission to store it and display it inside the app to whoever your privacy settings allow — for that purpose only, and only while you keep it posted or keep your account. We neither sell it nor pass it to third parties for their own purposes.
You are responsible for having the right to post what you post. If you believe some content infringes your rights, write to us and we will look into it.
8. What is ours
The Tacada name, brand, design and code are ours. Being allowed to use the app gives you no rights over them.
Golf course data (layouts, ratings, stroke indexes) comes from the federations and from open sources, and belongs to its owners. Maps are based on OpenStreetMap, under the ODbL licence.
9. If something goes wrong
We take care, but during the beta we do not guarantee that the app will always be available, or free of errors, or that data will not be lost.
We are not responsible for what happens outside the app: what you agree with other players, what happens on a course, or the decisions of a competition committee. Watch where you are going while you play, and do not stare at your phone while walking.
None of this limits liability that the law does not allow us to exclude, nor your rights as a consumer.
10. Ending
You can leave whenever you like by deleting your account. We may suspend the service or close your account if you break these terms, giving you notice unless it is urgent. If we were to stop providing the service, we would give you reasonable notice so you can take your data with you.
11. Changes
If we change these terms, we will publish the new version with its date and tell you in the app. If the change is substantial, we will ask you to accept it.
12. Governing law
Spanish law applies. If you are a consumer, you keep the right to bring proceedings in the courts where you live and to use the dispute resolution channels of your own country. The European online dispute resolution platform is also available to you.
